What ServiceSkills Does

ServiceSkills provides expert customer service and soft skills eLearning that turns customer-facing teams into better communicators.

Customer service and phone skills

Interactive training modules cover first impressions, improving empathy, questioning skills, better listening and handling irate callers. Wrong-way/right-way vignettes show employees exactly what to say and what to avoid. Teams use this to improve CSAT and reduce repeat contacts.

Team building and workplace respect

Topics in the library includes collaboration, conflict resolution, mentoring, diversity, harassment prevention and respectful workplace behavior. These courses help managers and frontline staff work together with fewer misunderstandings.

Leadership and communication skills

Courses cover email etiquette, business writing, virtual meetings, emotional intelligence, selling skills and managing remote teams. Lessons run 2–6 minutes so people can complete them between calls.

Supervisors assign courses, track completion, spot skill gaps, and run reports in the hosted platform. The same content is also available as SCORM files for an existing LMS or HRIS.

What Makes ServiceSkills Different?

Specialists in customer service training

ServiceSkills focuses on customer interaction and human skills. Broad platforms cover hundreds of topics thinly. We go deep on the interactions that actually affect CSAT, retention and culture.

40 years of proven content

The library includes freshly updated versions of the iconic Telephone Doctor collection, America’s favorite customer service training series. This content has been validated by millions of learners on six continents.

Short lessons with assigned learning paths

Modules are 2–6 minutes, quiz-backed and organized by skill. Managers assign paths instead of dumping a full catalog on employees and hoping something sticks.

Affordable annual subscriptions

Featuring packages for small teams to thousands of learners. Workshop-only providers often charge more for a one-time event. ServiceSkills is built for ongoing behavior change.

Rated 4.8-stars by current customers

ServiceSkills earns a 4.8 rating on G2. Clients regularly say support is outstanding and fast, with a Client Success Manager instead of a ticket-only queue.

The Team Behind ServiceSkills

History

Nancy Friedman founded Telephone Doctor Customer Service Training in St. Louis after a poor interaction with her insurance company. After experiencing her seminar a publishing executive nicknamed her “the Telephone Doctor,” and that became the foundation of the current training company. David Friedman now leads the organization which serves customers via the ServiceSkills eLearning platform. With a 4.8 star G2 rating, ServiceSkills merged the seminar and video business into a hosted eLearning platform where managers can assign training, track employee progress and recognize performance gaps.

Based in St. Louis

The St. Louis-based team handles sales, service, content creation, client success, technology and support. Teleohone Doctor’s proven methods are still the core of the customer-service courses, which have been fully updated and refreshed.

How ServiceSkills Works

Choose from either our hosted platform or SCORM files for your LMS. Administrators receive a live onboarding session. Managers assign courses or learning paths, then track progress, scores, and gaps. Learners watch short videos, take quizzes, get answer feedback and can print key-point reminders. Support is available by phone, virtual meeting and email. Onboarding happens in days, not months.
